Consent for Electronic 1098-T

The following information will be provided in HOWDY where you will also give your consent.

I specifically consent to receive my year-end 1098-T tax form electronically in the Howdy Student Portal. The 1098-T will be available in a PDF format for two years from the date I graduate.

I can subsequently choose to receive a paper copy and opt-out of electronic delivery via Howdy Student Portal. The paper copy will be provided to my permanent student address on file, which can be updated via Howdy Student Portal.

To opt out (withdraw consent) for the current tax year written notice must be provided one of these three ways:

  1. “1098-T Delivery Method Selection” in the Howdy Student Portal
  2. Email: Form1098t@tamu.edu
  3. U.S. Mail:
Texas A&M University
Tax Compliance & Reporting
6003 TAMU
College Station, TX 77843-6003

Written notice must include your student ID (UIN), your specific request to opt-out of the electronic delivery option for your 1098-T document and verification of your current address on file with the institution. If your student permanent address is incorrect you must update your student permanent address via the Howdy Student Portal prior to submitting this request.  Written notice must be received no later than October 31 of the tax year for which I wish to elect paper delivery.

If I do not fulfill the opt-out requirements by the stated deadline, my 1098-T will be delivered electronically, and I will be able to view and print a copy of my 1098-T tax form by accessing my Howdy Student Portal. If I do not consent to receive my 1098-T tax form electronically, a paper copy will be provided.

The duration of this agreement is for the current tax year; I may withdraw my consent by following the instructions above. Confirmation of my consent withdrawal will be sent to my student tamu.edu email account.
